Eamon Dunphy is a former professional footballer who has gone on to make a name for himself as an author and broadcaster.
He appears regularly as a pundit on RTE's soccer coverage alongside Bill O'Herlihy, John Giles and Liam Brady. He is known chiefly for his forthright and controversial views - ranging from his support of Roy Keane after the Saipan incident before the 2002 world cup, to his long-time criticism of Cristiano Ronaldo as a "cheat" and "a disgrace", comments since retracted.
His tendency to court controversy makes Dunphy one of the more quotable personalities on Irish tv.
